About Us

Founded in 2013 by Jessica Franses, Vitruvian Arts is a London-based brokerage dedicated to the discreet acquisition and placement of blue-chip art. At the highest level, we present museum-quality works and collections to museums and established private collectors.

For clients building or refining collections, we lead end-to-end sourcing, negotiation and due diligence for works by major artists, handled with the highest standards of confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

Leadership

Jessica Franses, Managing Director
Fourth-generation art dealer and practising barrister specialising in art law since 2010. Jessica founded Vitruvian Arts in 2013, building the brokerage around a network of specialist consultants. Her practice spans museum-quality works across periods—Renaissance paintings, Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masters, Modern and Contemporary art, antiquities, design and exceptional textiles. Recognition: Fine Art Brokerage MD of the Year (UK), 2024.

Malcolm Taylor, Strategic Director
Three decades' experience in high-value transactions at an international law firm; mediator of commercial and art disputes; former gallery owner and collector. Malcolm provides strategic oversight and commercial structuring for complex, multi-party and institutional transactions.

Both directors serve on the Art Due Diligence Group, providing comprehensive provenance, title and compliance review with access to independent experts as required.

Specialist network

We work with senior consultants across Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary art, and retain dedicated specialists for Old Masters—Italian, European, Dutch and Flemish schools.

Our extended network spans the USA, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, enabling precise guidance and discreet access across private and institutional markets.

Oversight & compliance

Complex transactions are reviewed by our company lawyer and AML specialist adviser, covering contractual structure, KYC, sanctions screening and regulatory requirements.
